Getting Started with Sterling Flight Training

Choose Your Runway

Sterling invites anyone considering our training programs to come visit us on location and see what we have to offer. We are open daily, and our administrative staff are on site from 9am to 5pm. Our instructors are available 24 hours a day by appointment. We offer courses for individual pilot certificates and ratings, as well as professional pilot programs. A student’s previous piloting experience can range from zero time to a seasoned professional pilot.

Whatever your experience level, we will strive to make you feel comfortable at Sterling. In addition to the relationship with your instructor, students also have access to the chief and assistant chief flight instructors. We offer a family-like environment, and all of us have a vested interest in your success in earning your ratings. Give Sterling Flight Training the opportunity to assist you with all of your flight training needs.

Sterling Flight Training is authorized to conduct flight training under Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) part 61 and part 141 for the following courses:

  1. Private Pilot Certificate
  2. Instrument Rating
  3. Commercial Pilot Certificate
  4. Certified Flight Instructor
  5. Multi-Engine Rating
  6. Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
  7. Multi-Engine Instructor

All flight training courses are offered on a standalone basis, and include the requisite ground training segments. You can also combine courses to create a complete professional pilot training program.

The most cost-effective approach to your pilot training is to determine your overall aviation goals and then formulate a plan of action before flight training begins. Since we do not collect any fees before services have been rendered, this approach can potentially result in substantial savings, regardless of the path you choose to take – which includes the following overall progression:

Sterling Flight Training has been approved for financing benefits from the Veterans Administration (VA). The VA will reimburse flight training students up to 60% of their flight and ground training costs for all courses, with the exception of the Private Pilot Certificate. Once the Private Pilot Certificate has been earned, VA benefits will apply.

Sterling was the best choice I could have made when starting my flight training. They have worked with me every step of the way. I now have my pilot’s license and I have the team at Sterling to thank!
