Q: How long have you been with Sterling?
A: I started working for Sterling July of 2021.
Q: What is your favorite part of working here?
A: Being around people who share the love of aviation and the family that Sterling effortlessly is, makes it feel more like home vs work.
Q: What do you look for in potential students?
A: The love of flying and the motivation to make their dream of flying a reality, whether it’s for a hobby or career.
Q: What qualities do you think makes a good student?
A: A positive attitude, willingness to learn new things and the love of flying.
Q: Do you have previous aviation experience?
A: In 2000, I completed my Initial En Route Training at the FAA Academy and was an Air Traffic Controller at Jacksonville Center (ZJX). I also have a degree in Aeronautical Science, my Private Pilot and Control Tower Operator License.
Q: Why should students choose Sterling over other programs?
A: Aside from being affiliated with Liberty University and Purdue Global, we also offer financing through MERITIZE. Our instructors can accommodate any and all schedules and will work with students to train them when they have the time. We offer Part 61 and Part 141 training, so we can offer the training that works best for the student’s style.
Q: What resources does Sterling offer that are valuable to students?
A: Sterling has a wide variety of aircraft, simulators and numerous instructors. We have a PSI testing center for all written tests, and we also offer housing for students. Sterling is approved to accept VA benefits including GI Bill and Vocational Rehab and offers a 10% military discount to servicemembers and veterans.
Q: How would you describe the culture at Sterling?
A: Welcoming, relaxed, casual and flexible. We’re a family at Sterling. Our doors are always open and we’re here for our students 24/7.

A: I’m a proud “Yinzer” from Pittsburgh PA…Go Steelers!
