Sterling Flight Training offers a wide array of aircraft for your training needs. Featuring Piper and Cessna aircraft, Sterling Flight will take you from the very basics of flying VFR (visual flight rules) to becoming proficient in flying by IFR (Instrument Flight Rules).
Your time at Sterling will allow you to see these aircraft up close. Several of our former students have actually joined our team upon completion of their training.
Sterling Flight Training offers rentals for many of our aircraft. Renters must complete a checkout in the aircraft of choice prior to any scheduled rental. Rentals are subject to aircraft minimums per calendar day and pilots must be instrument rated to take an aircraft overnight.
Sterling requires all renters to hold their own renter insurance policy to operate aircraft on solo flights. This requirement is to protect our customers in the event of an incident. Affordable policies can be found through Avemco or similar aircraft renter insurance companies. Our policy requires a minimum $25,000 standard bodily injury and property damage liability limit policy, and an additional aircraft damage policy which will vary based on the aircraft you are renting. Annual premiums are estimated to be around $70-90/month (the insurance company will provide final quotes).
Please note this policy only applies to renters operating solo flights. Active students and Sterling employees are NOT required to hold individual policies.
